Evan Hauser

for Chancellor of the Seventh Judicial District of Tennessee

Anderson County, Tennessee

I am a conservative passionate about my family, my church, and my community.

I am happy to announce I am seeking the Republican party nomination in next year’s primary on March 5, 2024 for Chancery Court in Anderson County, Tennessee.

Anderson County Chancery Court handles mostly family law cases including divorce, child support, and custody cases. Having been through a divorce, and now remarried with a blended family, I know first-hand the challenges parents and, especially, children face going through that process. I’m passionate about serving the best interests of our community’s children and that’s why I’m running.

A rural East Tennessee native, I am a conservative passionate about my family, my church, and serving my community.

I have practiced law nearly 18 years, almost exclusively as a trial lawyer throughout East Tennessee, including Anderson County, in a broad variety of civil matters such as family law, general torts liability, workers’ compensation, and real estate matters. I also took appointments representing children in Juvenile Courts in several East Tennessee counties.

In 2013 I joined the Knox County Law Director’s Office where I primarily run the county’s workers’ compensation program and represent the county government in a variety of civil legal matters. As a Senior Deputy Law Director I worked to add workers’ compensation coverage for approximately 7,000 teachers, who did not previously have coverage, and still saved the Schools nearly 4 million dollars to date.

I believe it is important to have competent, impartial judges. Judges should follow the law faithfully as written by the General Assembly, not how they think it should be. As Chancellor, I will approach every case with thorough, consistent, conscientious preparation and decide cases according to the law, without preferential treatment to any party.

CHARACTER.  My wife, Stacy, an Anderson County native, and I live in Clinton, Tennessee. We are a blended family with 5 kids ages 14 to 23. Throughout my children’s lives, I have been actively involved in coaching their sports teams, serving in leadership with the Boy Scouts of America, and getting them outdoors.

I serve regularly at my church, Faith Promise, and I am an active volunteer at Angelic Ministries. My family and I also enjoy playing gospel music at local nursing and Veterans homes.

INTEGRITY.  Thomas Jefferson set forth the basic principle of public service as follows: “When a man assumes a public trust, he should consider himself as public property.” A public servant must be selfless and pledge loyalty to his community over his own personal interest.

My fellow citizens deserve a Chancellor that represents the highest ethical standards who will support the Constitution of the United States, Constitution of Tennessee, and decide matters with careful thought, fairly and impartially regardless of the parties . I believe I have the temperament, skill, and expertise required to serve as Chancellor for Anderson County.

PROVEN REPUBLICAN.  As a candidate for the GOP Primary, voters should know whether their nominee reflects their values. My voting history demonstrates I actively vote and participate in local Republican primaries and general elections. I believe in limited government, liberty, economic prosperity, and preserving American values and traditions. I also believe in the role of an independent judiciary who will administer the law faithfully without prejudice or bias. I will work to ensure the Court is easily accessible so everyone has the opportunity to be heard.

Evan Outside the Office

I enjoy spending time with my family hiking in Big South Fork, mountain biking Mill Creek at Loyston Point, and paddling anywhere.  I also enjoy CrossFit, but I try not to talk about it too much.

I volunteer at my church and Angelic Ministries. I also like to dust off the banjo and play old time fiddle tunes when no one is around to complain!
